The Mousey Chronicles

I originally started the idea of children's books with a fun adult twist. From this concept I developed the character I call “Mousey” inspired from the story If You Give a Mouse a Cookie. After that, however, it felt right to continue the adventures of this mouse and see where his story would lead us. I still maintain the influences of kid books that add a bit of humor and drama to Mousey’s story. I developed his “tail” imitating a storyboard, where everyone would have a snapshot of a moment in his life. Because Mousey has now taken over most of my works, it only seems right to embrace his lifestyle and to illustrate his life for a series. Other childhood books have also had a great impact in this series however the focus remains on Mousey. There is an excitement of introducing this mouse to other storybook characters. He has had a fun crossover with the caterpillar, from The Very Hungry Caterpillar, where they are smoking a joint and enjoying a pizza. There was also inspiration from the book Alexander’s Horrible no Good Very Bad Day. Like every life, Mousey experiences low moments and struggles, that shows more to his character. Throughout this series, Mousey the brown mouse, has received a great response from people. Each piece showcases a relatable event that allows everyone to laugh, cry, and feel all the emotions Mousey feels. This theme has become solely dominated by Mousey and now this character can stand on his own as a continuous developing storyline.
